Registration, Grading and Training

All players must be registered on www.playfootball.com.au prior to any trials or training for insurance purposes.

Senior registration closes on 3 March 2026. Make sure you are registered so we can nominate teams to Capital Football.

Junior registration for Under 10-Under 18 closes on 9 March 2026.

Juniors Under 10-Under 15 must be registered for grading sessions. Only players who attend grading sessions will be able to play in graded teams (Division 1 and 2). All other players will be allocated places in lower divisions.

Competitive juniors (Under 12-Under 18) should register by the closing date to be guaranteed a place in a team. After this date, held or saved places will be released to registered players on a first come, first served basis.

MiniRoos Under 5-Under 9 registration closes on 31 March 2026. After this time there is no guarantee of space within teams.

Registration Payments

Players will not be approved to play until their registration fees have been paid. With the changes to the PlayFootball platform, there are two payment options: full upfront payment or scheduled payment.

Scheduled payment includes paying the Capital Football and Football Australia fees upfront plus 25% of the club fee. The remaining 75% of the club fee will be collected by the club over three additional payments.

All payments need to be finalised by 27 April 2026.

Important: players will not be approved to play in the 2026 season if payment is not received prior to 27 April 2026.

Photograph Required When Registering Players

A recent digital photo must be uploaded when registering players through www.playfootball.com.au. If you have any issues, contact rego@belwestsoccer.com or see the help guide in the PlayFootball system.

Under 10 Age Specific Information

Belwest starts grading players and teams from the Under 10 age group. The transition from Under 9 to Under 10 can be difficult, as teams and players who have sometimes played together since Under 5 are often split as a result of grading.

The grading process is vital to ensure players and teams are placed in the most appropriate playing level. Previous teams and friendship requests are taken into account, but the key factor used will be the player's ability.

If a player wishes to be placed in a team based solely on friendship requests, this can be requested, but may result in the player playing in a lower level than their ability. Please let the Registrar know before grading sessions if a player's friendship group is the primary preference.

Dates of the grading sessions can be found in Key Dates. All players must have completed the grading registration form to attend these grading sessions.

Grading and Preseason Team Allocations

Parents should read the Grading Policy and Parent Information to be familiar with Belwest grading of junior players Under 10 through Under 15.

All grading and preseason team allocations are at Latham Playing Fields.

To confirm an offer of a place in a Division 1 or Division 2 team, players must accept in writing and be registered on PlayFootball by the date specified in the offer email.

Check out the National Curriculum and Football Australia coaching resources. More information for coaches is available in our coaches section.

See Key Dates for grading and preseason team allocation dates and times.

You need to apply for a Working with Vulnerable People card through the ACT Government's Access Canberra website if you have not already done so. Please see our Member Protection information or contact a committee member for further information.

All club merchandise and the pre-loved boot pool will be available for purchase at Latham once the season starts. The shop will be open from 8:30 am-12:00 pm Saturday mornings.

First Aid Certificate: New or Refresher

Belwest strongly encourages teams to have at least one person, or more, with a current first aid certificate qualification. To assist with this, Belwest offers a free course for anyone wishing to fulfil this role for their team.

The course is made up of an online e-learning component with a test (2-3 hours) that must be completed and passed prior to the practical component, and a practical component scheduled for 6:00 pm on a date to be advised depending on numbers.

Please complete the relevant section when registering through www.playfootball.com.au, or email secretary@belwestsoccer.com.

Canteen, BBQ, Latham Setup and Pack Up

Belwest maintains a roster covering the morning and afternoon shifts for the canteen and BBQ. Each junior and senior team will be required to do at least one roster shift for the season.

Parents of MiniRoos and junior players will be rostered to assist with setup and pack up at Latham each Saturday morning and afternoon.

View the BBQ and Canteen Duty Roster.

You will need to register by 3 March 2026 to ensure the correct team nominations are completed in time for the season start.
